Launch of TVET Programme on Membrane Technology in Agadir as Part of WE-Africa Project

On Tuesday May 6, 2025, a new Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programme focused on membrane technology will be officially launched in Agadir, Morocco. This milestone marks a significant step forward for the WE-Africa project, which aims to strengthen sustainable water and energy management across Africa through university-industry collaboration.

Developed in close cooperation with international and local partners and supported by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) with funding from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the new TVET programme is designed to build local capacity and provide practical skills in advanced water treatment technologies. Membrane technology, known for its efficiency and sustainability, is increasingly vital in addressing water scarcity and quality challenges in the region.

This program will take place simultaneously with the regular project consurtium meeting that is also taking place in Agadir in the same week. and will be followed by an enterpreneurship course that will take place also in Agadir May 19, 2025.

The launch event will bring together representatives from academia, industry, and public institutions to celebrate the start of this hands-on training programme, which will contribute to both workforce development and long-term environmental sustainability in Morocco and beyond.

The WE-Africa project continues to foster innovation, knowledge exchange, and regional cooperation to tackle pressing water and energy challenges through education and applied research.
